About me
My name is Dave Ott, I'm a full time freelance web developer currently living in Jacksonville, FL. Over time I've sharpened many tools in my toolbox, but lately most of the work I've been doing is with python and ruby and their respective popular frameworks (django, zope, and rails). I've also been doing a lot with asynchronous javascript and the other technologies that encompass that silly little buzz word AJAX. As much as I can, I focus on web standards and accessibility.
I'm an open source advocate because I believe it's a better way and because it allows me to pursue and achieve things that would otherwise be out of reach. This site is one way for me to support and give back to that ideal.
I'm always looking for new work and new friends in the industry. If either of these describes you, drop me a line or connect with me in one of these ways:
I'm on Django People

About this site
The header graphics on this site were done by my good friend Aaron Reimann. Aaron is a talented designer and developer in my hometown Atlanta and is also always looking for new work. So check out his site and portfolio.
This site uses transparent png's and without going through the hassle of using AlphaImageLoader I am knowingly excluding IE6 visitors. I'm ok with that. I have to do it on pretty much every site I work on professionally. So because I don't have to here, I'll spare myself. And besides, we gotta move the ship forward. Get firefox. You'll like it.
For all you Safari users you'll notice a few extra perks like text and box shadowing thanks to it's CSS3 implementation.
